Water overflowing…well….living….BOTH!!

Water overflowing…well….living….BOTH!!

Today was a day I will NEVER forget!!! It started out as an ordinary mission trip…work day…we had a great breakfast…went to Copprome…painted…some of the guys worked on the water line…broke it..repaired it…prepared it to add the water filtration system..VBS…you know…an ordinary day in the life of missions….everybody happy…working hard..lovin hard on the kids in between…and then we were invited to Mt. Olivos at 2:30!!                                                                                                                                         We weren’t really sure exactly why we were going…but knew it had something to do with the well that was finished and running…..we arrived…lots of sweet hugs and smiles…they brought chairs and set us up around the water tank which is built way up high on stilts…. Then they asked Ty and I to come forward….they proceeded to pray and read a sweet passage from Psalms…they thanked us for coming in the name of the Lord to help them…It was such a sweet and suprising moment…All I could do was hold on to Sister Teresita and smile and tear up…..The whole community was there…and then Ty spoke to them..telling them that when they look at the well and the tower…they should not think about us…but think about God…Jesus….and the Holy Spirit….the living water that gives us all a sweet eternity together….then they handed us both scissors and asked us to cut a ribbon they had tied around it!!!  Ty had on sun glasses….but I am sure his eyes looked just like mine…. What a sweet day …celebrating a sweet people…God’s people….born in a country not of their own choosing… but who are making the best of what they have…..watching them full of joy…..for the simpleness of water…amazing….within 10 minutes after the ribbon cutting….they turned on the generator and water started pouring out of the tower…It was the sweetest thing to watch the kids dancing under the water…..something we take for granted everyday..maybe we need to dance under the water more often….
