shop till you drop has a whole new meaning!

So sorry I haven’t blogged in a couple of days!  Yesterday we went downtown and bought 16 new mattresses for the orphanage!!!  Then we met with some local people about some business ventures for the Mt Olivos people!!! Not only is Hearts2Honduracommitted to helping build the village…we also want to help the people learn a trade so they can sustain their new lifestyle!!  The orphanage needs new clothing wardrobes for the kids…the ones they have are old and metal and just falling apart…so we asked Tino (from Mt Olivos) to build a sample wardrobe in hopes that we could give him some work and at the same time help Copprome attain something they really need….so Tino was ready to show us the first wardrobe which is 90% complete….It was amazing!!! Solid wood…handcrafted by him…he is so talented!!! So…we ordered 30!! A couple of the older kids were with us when we wnet to see it and they were thrilled…These would sell for $600-$800 in the US…  With lots of ‘to do’s’ crossed off our list….we were headed to the airport to pick up Shelton…the past 2 days the kids kept shouting Chelton manyana!!! They were so excited about him arriving…..  It was bitter sweet…Shelton’s first night was Ty’s last night…what better way to celebrate than to go to dinner at POWER CHICKEN!!! Yesterday was a fun day with lots of things accomplished!!!   Today began with a final trip with Ty to Mt Olivos….we were excited to see the roof going up on the first house….it is so cool to see buildings in this village….yes…I do believe we can now call this a village!!!!  Ty and Shelton talked about what needed to be accomplished the next 2 weeks as he and Tino order supplies for the next two houses to break ground!!! WOOHOO!!!!! It is so amazing to see these houses become a reality….The smiles on these men’s faces as they began to have hope that they can provide for their families is a sweet… sweet thing to see!                              Ty left for the airport as Lola and I met the Copprome kids at the uniform shop! Now….I am really glad Ty nor Shelton came with us…..It was hard enough for me….waiting for 40 kids to try on skirts and pants, shirts and shoes….oh yes….by the time we left….FIVE HOURS… but it was worth it….all of the kids now have full uniforms to begin school in 2 weeks and a lot of you reading this are responsible for purchasing them!!! Thank you so much!!! The kids are excited about the new school year beginning in February!! I am lying here in the room with a full stomach surrounded by Gaby, Gabriel and Shelton laughing and enjoying being together!!! I am sad to be leaving Friday…but so excited about everything being accompllished….The kids at Copprome ready for school and the famiies at Mt Olivos pitching in to become a strong community……and my son here to help them accomplish it all…. but also VERY excited about coming home to a sweet daughter  who is ready to deliver my first grand child!  yes…next time I come back to Honduras…I will be a grandmother (rara)!  Life is good….lots of great changes as we try to grow to become exactly what we were created to be…
