Power Chicken and Bibles for everyone!

Power Chicken and Bibles for everyone!

Today began with French toast and scrambled eggs…not to metion fresh pineapple, watermelon and canteloupe…then off to Copprome to  finish painting and bust a hole in the wall for the water purification system!!                                                                                              The painting went great…all we have left is the edging along the the roof….the hole in the wall…..well…let’s just say we did not have good tools for that task….so they kinda looked like cave men knocking a hole in the wall!! But it is almost done!  So tomorrow we will finalize these two tasks and move on to opening up the chicken house so the new chickens we will receive tomorrow can breathe….which basically means tearing some of the wood off so the chicken wire will serve as part of the wall…a screened in porch style chicken house…if you will….this is supposed to be better for the chickens….If I understood correctly today…we may have 100 little chickens delivered tomorrow….though….there was some discussion about hens instead of chickens…..so I guess…tomorrow…..when they arrive…we will know…so we will just do as the Hondurans do and wait patiently….haha…                            We then came back to the hotel to shower and change for VBS and dinner….VBS was awesome…the little ones made boxes with mirrors in them that said Dios ama….which means God loves…then they look in the mirror….and see that God loves them!!  Ridley talked to the older kids about the Bibles that we gave to them….The kids were so excited to each receive their own Bibles…Ridley talked about how the Bible was written and did a quick overview of how to study it!! He told them that God has a plan for each of their lives…but unless they study God’s word…they will never know the plan He has for each of them….He told them to  start by reading Juan(John) because that was one of Jesus’ closest friends….and by reading Juan they can know more about Jesus!  The kids seemed excited about it…..It was so cool to see each of them with their own Bibles….when all you can call your own will fit in a 2ft by 6 ft cabinet….a Bible is a pretting special addition!  Heck ….a Bible is a pretty special addition anytime…especially when it is your first one!!                 Then off to Power Chicken for one of the best meals El Progreso has to offer!  Fried Shrimp, Calamari…grilled chicken….fried rice…fried plantains…..good stuff!  This team is doing a great job! Several of them are struggling adapting to the heat…but attitudes are great!! I look forward to what blessings will be shown to us tomorrow!!
