Gifts galore…

Gifts galore…

I am writing this tonight. . it is raining and there is no internet. . so I guess you will be reading this tomorrow. . hopefully it will be back up by then. . .
day 3 and we are really learning lots about each other. . it is kind of like long lost relatives who have come together for one purpose. . some work as the hands. . some the feet. . some the heart. . but all one body. .
we have a lady on the trip from Oklahoma that mentioned she loves to cook. . that is her gift and a ministry all on its own. . she makes award winning Indian Tacos that she enters into competitions and wins!. . she wants to make them for us one night. . so Sunday night we will all be blessed. . . she is going to make them at Copprome for all of us! That means close to 100 people! She also cooks at church camp so she said it is no big deal. . she went into the kitchen at Copprome today just to help the cooks there. . Lucy and Amary were embarrassed at first but then thrilled to have help. . after they found out she was going to cook Sunday and they would have the night off. . they were thrilled!
We also have a man with us this weekend from Nashville who has a nonprofit, Tool Life, that is donating sewing machines to Olivos so the men/women can make clothing to sell. . he showed them the machines today and they were so excited. . We can hardly wait to see what they make the next month before we return on the 26th! Having partners like this is what makes our ministry successful.
Ty also brought a solar light to test. . there is no electricity in Olivos. . If this light works well. . we plan to get at least one for every house. . can you imagine never having electricity? When the sun goes down. . so do you. . this solar light will add about 4 hours to their day!
yep. . today was a cool day. . we worked hard in the heat but also got to enjoy some gift giving moments. . part of the team continued varnishing woodwork at Copprome and the rest were at Olivos mixing concrete and pouring footings for houses #19 and #20.
A big thank you to Dianne, Claire, and Meredith for doing VBS today at Olivos and Copprome. . the kids loved roaring like lions as the learned about Daniel. . we ended the day with great food at Power Chicken!
