Day 7 Pulhapanzak…water today…tears tonight

So we began our final day in Honduras with french toast and eggs…then we were off to the falls at Pulhapanzak..It is about an hour away from El Progreso and the most beautiful natural falls!  It is like a park  with a swimming area, monkeys, horses, cows, etc… and also a tour where you can go behind the falls and stand.  16 of us went on the tour… it was nothing like I had ever experienced before! You actually walk beside the falls and then climb rocks and go through them to get under the falls!  The hard part is the water just beats on you as you go…the guide says look down and breath through your nose! For a few minutes I was thinking…what in the world are we doing…this is crazy! But after you get through the roughest parts, it is really amazing!  There are several places where you jump from rocks into the falls..The last one is 100 feet up….It was a really cool experience….but not one I would recomend unless you love to hike and are pretty tough…I am glad I did it…but  I am not sure everyone would like it!!  Part of our group stayed back and instead of going to the falls….they went to the mall and made up goody bags for all the kids to give them on our final night…                                                                                                                    Then we came back to the hotel…showered…and went to Copprome for our farewell dinner and birthday party for July birthdays….Reyna Isabella and Carolina (we really don’t know her birthday…but we decided to celebrate hers in July sinces there was only one) and the fiesta  the kids planned for us…they always do a farewell dance and show for us!  The dinner sweet Doris cooked us was fantastic…fresh fried chicken, beans and homemade tortillas!!  We then ate icecream and cookies to celebrate birthdays and after the dances and skits…said our goodbyes…it is always so hard on everyone to say goodbye…you kind of get in the habit of going to Copprome everyday and receiving so much love…it is so hard to imagine that tomorrow…we will not get our hugs and kisses….lots of hearts were touched this trip…lots of new relationships formed…lots of hearts knitted together for one cause…yes…we made a difference in some lives this week…but, as usual…they changed our lives forever!!
