Day 6. . . We’ve been malled!

Day 6. . . We’ve been malled!

So we started the day a little later…slept in and then went to Copprome  to “do church” there and then cook out!….well things always change when you plan them….the cook on duty at Copprome did not get the message we were coming to grill out lunch…so she had already cooked lunch for the kids….so we adjusted…which in Honduras is very easy to do! Honduran time is layed back and slow….so we do as the Hondurans do…we hung out …. ate our normal peanut butter and jelly or turkey sandwiches for lunch and then did  church! AND let me tell you how awesome church was…the voices of Keith, Tonda, Renee and Stephanie were so fantastic that a dove was sitting on the window sill listening…. no lie…  Ty saw a dove outside the window …what a cool peaceful sign of a job well done!     We also taught the kids Yo tango gozo song…they loved it! They  recited  their Bible verse beautifully! We had a great service and then the boys played futball  and had a blast..Even our bus drivers and the men at the orphanage played…they had so much fun…the girls painted nails and made Jesus eyes out of yarn and popsicle sticks. We then took 8 more kids to dinner at the mall…they were all so excited!  You cannot imagine how precious it was that the FHS boys all grabbed a child to be responsible for at the mall.  I have never seen a group of kids more excited to be together!! They bought them gifts and actually blessed them in ways no one can explain.  At the end of the night I was buying ice cream cones for the kids…and Riley (one of our sweet FHS boys), said to me…no way Ms. Rhonda Jami is my responsiblility tonight…I want to buy her ice cream…wow…yes…we have impacted the kids……but they have impacted all of us in ways we can’t even comprehend yet…I am sure these teenage boys will be thinking  about these kids daily…and the kids will be asking me about them every time I come….It is such a sweet blessing being here…not just with my Copprome  angels…but with the mission team who is sweet beyond their years….I am so thankful  they are here….it has been a perfect week!
