Day 4 August Mission Team!

Day 4 August Mission Team!

Today was a day that was really special for lots of our team.  Several people mentioned that they were really beginning to feel comfortable with the people at Olivos and with the kids at Copprome.  They were already starting to be sad that our trip was more than half way over. It is crazy to think that we have been here 4 days….worked our tails off in  the blazing sun for 3 of them….and people are starting to feel sad about leaving…yes, it is all about love…love for those around us who are so filled with love and hope now…but have nothing much material wise…yet they are full of smiles and laughter…it is sad to think about leaving them…it is sad to think about going home to serve ourselves by working 40 hours a week so we can have more…when these precious humble people have so little….yes, coming here  is an eye opener and a true lesson in humility…what is really important in life?    We see here…that living together in community is really what God created us to do…that is why when we do things as simple as folding up tables and chairs after dinner….it does not seem like a chore…why? because we are doing it together…doing this life together… coming along side one another…helping…loving …serving…it is totally what we were created to do…and doing it for those less fortunate than ourselves…is just about the most fulfilling way we can do it!  ok…enough about feelings…what did we do today?      Well, we went to Olivos to sift sand and tie rebar!  We spent the entire day doing those 2 things…well in between some of us hugged on some kids, held some sweet babies and exchanged smiles with the sweet hard working people of Olivos!  We then delivered 50 lbs of beans, 50 lbs of rice and 4 lbs of corn meal to all 26 homes before it began to rain!  There were tears of some of the women’s eyes as they accepted their food….this is the largest amount of food we have ever given them…and oh how exciting it was to do!!!!        We then came back to the hotel and showered and changed so we could head to Copprome to do VBS there!  Jordyn and Caroline did a great job planning and organizing it for our team!  The kids loved it and  look so forward to just hanging out with everyone…we had several new sponsors relationships form and it is so much fun to watch the beginning of a sweet relationship.  The kids call the females their madrina…which means God mother… they truly believe God has sent them these American Families! AND I KNOW THEY ARE EXACTLY RIGHT!!!     We ended the day with a fun night of pizza and my sweet Gabriel singing us a song…while Gaby and I sat and watched with tears….He is so talented…I know God has some big things planned for Gaby and Gabriel…I feel honored to be a part of it..  and I especially love it when I hear either of them say…look mom…and Gabriel is doing a flip on the bed or Gaby is showing me her homework..what sweet kids God has given me here in Honduras…I can hardly wait to have all 4 of my kids on the same continent!!!.
