Day 3 Honduras time is anytime

Day 3 Honduras time is anytime

We started the day with french toast and scrambled eggs and then headed to Copprome to paint!  We were supposed to get a paint delivery by 7am…It showed up at 1:45….so we had some down time….It is a marathon…not a sprint! These are the words we always say when things do not happen when planned…or even when expected…We Americans are so used to a schedule that revolves around being busy every waking hour…sometimes we need to slow down and enjoy the scenery…when you are at an orphanage….the scenery is sweet   kids who need lots of lovin!                                                                                                             Some of our group went to  Mt. Olivos to see what we could help them with…they did not really have anything for us to do…so Shelton was able to show the team members the well and some of the things they have accomplished the past few months.  They said they could really use our help on Saturday!                                                                                                                                       Today’s VBS   was about remembering what Christ did for us…died for all of our sins…not so we could be bad whenever we feel like it…but so we could be forgiven and have a perfect role model to live by.  We had black felt crosses we gave out that they colored on with bright colored markers….we put tape on the back and told them to tape them above their bed so they would always remember what Jesus did for them!                                                                      Then we came back to the hotel and cleaned up for dinner…we went to Power Chicken and took Joselyn, Doris and Maria….3  of the ladies who work at Copprome.  It is always a treat for them to go and get a fantastic meal!  It is so cool to watch the younger members of our team hang out and just be teenagers with the Copprome kids…you can tell how comfortable they are beginning to feel together after only a couple of days..aggravating each other by hiding shoes and doing all the things that friends do  when they are hanging out.  There are lots of “amigos” being created this week! We hope to have a full day of work tomorrow painting and varnishing the windows! Be blessed wherever you are!
