Day 2 August Mission Team

Day 2 August Mission Team

Today was our first work day…it was hot and we shoveled for 7 hours!! We were basically moving piles of sand to fill in the footings of the house so we can level it to later pour the concrete floor!  It is a great team style work with everyone taking turns shoveling, carrying buckets and the men pushing the wheelbarrows up a skinny wooden ramp!   We cleared several mounds of sand that a huge truck delivered and dumped for us!  The whole team worked hard to accomplish that…AND…it is a good thing because now it is storming and raining hard…that sand would be really heavy tomorrow!       We then came back to the hotel to shower and go to Copprome to play with the kids.  We spent an hour with all of them just hanging out…some playing soccer or futball as they call it..and others just enjoying the smiles and giggles from a group of kids that just love to be paid attention to and recognized….yes these kids are precious….and so full of love…It is funny how you leave Copprome feeling like they have filled you so full of love….when your intention is to fill them up….well maybe we all get filled….whatever you want to call it…it is worth every moment you spend with them….all the hugs, kisses and smiles…there is enough for everyone….and they delighted all 30 of us today!!         Then……last stop for the day…..POWER CHICKEN!….the best restaurant in Progreso…and maybe even all of Honduras…maybe even in the world!!! Platters of fresh seafood and grilled steak, chicken, pork and ribs….Everyone is begging to go back again before we leave…I told them to sweet talk Ty…and he just might take us again!!!  Another day…another blessing…more happy memories….I am smiling as I look over and see my sweet Gaby asleep next to me..tomorrow night I will have Gabriel here too…sweet..sweet memories…….
