27 Jul Day 1 Mission Team #3!! We made it and had a great day!
We started the day a little crazy…We had 3 boxes we were trying to pay and check to Honduras on American Air…they said Honduras had a box embargo and we could not take boxes…so we had to buy 3 bags to bring our water purification system and some of the items for the kids!! BUT…we did…and made it just in time to take off! It is actually a little cooler than normal here right now…high 80’s…so that was a nice suprise when we stepped off the plane! We spent the afternoon at the orphanage just playing with the kids…Everyone keeps commenting on how affectionate and loving all the kids are… I guess that is part of the reason I love it here so much! They have such loving hearts and just immediately assume you are there to love on them….and how right they are!! This team came in with open arms and began playing and hugging on the kids as if they had known them forever!! It is going to be a great week! I want to share one of the highlights of this day with you…Gabriel who is a 15 year old with such an amazing voice…he sings on key and has never had lessons…he was telling me last week how he would love to learn to play the guitar…my sweet cousin, Lily…donated her brand new guitar to him!! I brought it today…I wish you all could have seen his sweet face with eyes as gracious and excited as any I have ever seen….yes, there is joy overflowing in this place!!
