2013 Mission Team #4 day 5

2013 Mission Team #4 day 5

Wow. . What a powerful day! We had church at Olivos. . And oh what a service we had. . Pastor Jay preached to the men about what a great job they are doing building the houses and that to receive all of God’s blessings, the men needed to make sure they were following God. He told them 4 main principles. . To honor God. . . Be strong in following the things of Christ. . Build community with each other and hold each other accountable. . And love your family well. . He then called the men forward and our men on the mission team washed the feet of the Olivos men. . Just as Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. . It was an amazing site. . Then I turned around and Raul was washing Shelton’s feet. . And then Shelton began washing Gabriel’s feet. .  tears were rolling down our faces as we watched this sweet servant attitude. . . We then took communion together. . What a sweet and memorable morning we had. . Thank you Pastor Jay and another of our team members named Jay for suggesting we do that. . .It just takes bold people of faith. . Making suggestions. . Following God’s nudge. . To change the spiritual temperature of a village. . I am quite sure. . It was impacted this day. ..

We then bought souvenirs from the women in the village and then off to a fantastic lunch! Next stop was to Copprome Orphanage for VBS, birthday party for August and September birthdays, and Mike’s famous chocolate chimichangas! The kids and the team loved them!
Dinner was supposed to be at the food court at the mall. . . But one of the restaurants in the food court had a gas explosion in their kitchen. . So they evacuated and closed the mall. . Oh no. . What did we do? Why. . Power Chicken of course!
