2013 Mission Team #4 Day 4

2013 Mission Team #4 Day 4

Today was pretty amazing…it began with clouds and sprinkles…which meant that the temps would be cooler…like low 90’s…we had a foundation to pour and it was so nice to do it without the sun beating down on us!  We finished that in record time with everyone laughing and handing off buckets of concrete…some of the teens that had never participated in the bucket brigade of concrete jumped in and helped…thank you Kim!….The most beautiful part of the entire team effort was that the younger girls began singing praise and worship songs as we were working…. and before we knew it we were all singing and working together…I do believe we all enjoyed the sweet sweet sound….
We finished right at lunch time…had lunch…and then the teens lead VBS and the men went back to work….and the women….we asked all of the women in the village to come and have prayer time with us….we prayed over them all and discussed how hard it is sometimes to be a wife…a mother…a friend…we shared our common struggles and then we prayed as a large group…each of the American women praying over the group of Honduran women….we then told them if any of them wanted one on one prayer we would be glad to pray with them…EVERYone of them stayed for individual prayer…it was so sweet to be able to love on them today…..thank you Amy for seeing that these sweet women needed some lovin!!
We then took the Copprome kids swimming…they do not get off campus very often for group activities so we love when we can do something special for them…they were so excited and had so much fun swimming and playing in the pool with our sweet team…
We then went back to the hotel for dinner….and after dinner….Raul…Shelton’s best friend and training partner. . and now a member of our family. .  gave his testimony…with tears rolling down his face, he shared about his terrible childhood and how angry he was that God didn’t answer his childhood prayers. . and how he met Shelton. . and  he didn’t understand how he could love God so much. . Then he started working with our 147 mission teams. . how Brad. . one of our team members from May. . spent time talking with him. . loving on him. . and he felt different. . he started to remember who God is and how His timing is perfect. . Brad helped him purge his heart and feel joy and peace again…he said he now feels complete for the first time in his life…he loves people again..he is not angry…he is now a life changer…his transformation has been amazing to witness…and him sharing his heartfelt story tonight was such an inspirational time for all of us…We don’t know all that God has planned in Honduras…we don’t know whose path we will cross and how people will be affected by this ministry…but we do know that He is in this…He is here working through all of us…we just have to be willing to be used by Him…to serve others selflessly and humbly…and oh it feels so good……
