29 Jun Day 5…Mission Team #2…long successful day!
Today started like every other…a great breakfast…and off to work! We had a couple of medical needs….that Dr Ty and nurse Rhonda handled…a couple of them were not ones you talk about before or during a meal….infections so terrible that the pain has to be outrageous!!!….and one little girl with a wound on her forehead that you can’t even describe….there is always needs…..we do the best we can with some and others we take to the Dr. I really do enjoy the ‘nurse’ part…maybe I missed my calling???? I know Ty missed his! haha! But back to the houses…..I have to tell you that this team…having the calibar of people….athletes….young bodies…that it has….has worked their tails off this week!!! We have worked on 5 houses….It has been an amazing thing to watch as this team jumps in and just gets it done!!!! The FHS football players plus an FRA football player and 2 IHS baseball players have really outdone themselves!!! They have worked….talked about lessons learned…..and discussed when they would return…..They are an incredible group of young people….I don’t want to hear negative things about teens today…..because the ones I witnessed this past week were outstanding Christians who love on and worked beside those less fortunate than themselves!! They would make ANY MOM OR DAD proud!!! We even worked 2 hours longer than normal today because we just couldn’t leave without completing the pouring in of the foundation….. It was 5:00 before our team finished working at Olivos!!!! Then a few of us went to Copprome and helped them make their own personal pillow cases….what a great idea by Marcie who organized VBS this week!!! The Waller’s also brought some teen size boys clothes and Jonathon, Marbin and Pepe were so excited to get new clothes and shoes!!!! Then we came back to the hotel for a great dinner and a devo by Daren!! We brought Jonathon and Marbin back with us for dinner and they enjoyed hanging out with all the teen boys on the team!!! Yes this has been a great week….we were all a little sad tonight to realize it is coming to an end..5 of our teens are leaving for college this fall and they are talking about a college trip possibly in May…Ty and I are in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are always IN when it comes to bringing people here to meet these sweet people…we always learn more about being humble when we are here…
