06 Jun Day 3. . digging trenches and God loves you!
So today was our second work day and we hit the ground running…..we arrived at Olivos ready to work!!! Our team already knew what they were good at and they jumped in and started working immediately!! We tied rebar….made columns…cut wire….and dug trenches! Our team is so positive and so good at helping each other make sure we get breaks and drink lots of water! I think the Olivos men were very impressed with all that we accomplished!! After lunch, we did our first VBS for the week…It was great ….Rebecca and Crystal did a great job planning it…and the skit and crafts were a big hit!!! Then we served them cookies and juice….they kids were so polite and grateful…it was a sweet day… I did go and visit my newborn and held her just for a short time…she was wide awake and seems so small and fragile….I swear she only weighs 5 lbs…. Then we came back to the hotel and cooled off in the pool before going to Copprome at 4 to do VBS for them! They were so excited!!! We did the Yo Tengo song and they screamed the words…..It is so much fun to lead them because they are just so thrilled we are there…. we are off to dinner…at the hotel restaurant…tomorrow is the birthay party at Copprome for the June birthdays!!! Our team is amazing and so sweet and helpful!!! Ty, Shelton and I feel honored to introduce them to all of the Honduran people and culture….It is truly a blessing!
