29 Jun Day 1 Mission trip 1…I will praise you in this storm!
Well….today began with a storm and ended with a storm!! But it sure did not affect the hearts and minds of this amazing mission team!! We left Nashville with it lightening and raining..got into Miami with it cloudy and rain there..arrived in San Pedro Sula with the sun shining…but by the time we arrived at the orphanage to play a little soccer and just love on the kids..it started storming again..this time with hail, strong winds and the electricity even went out! Now it all sounds pretty terrible….but the truth is..that with the hot temperatures here…it felt pretty darn good! We all ended up in the cafeteria playing crazy games and giggling as we watched the macho FHS football boys dancing and imitating the little girls..basically doing whatever they asked them to! It was a precious scene and I think everyone fell madly in love with all of the Copprome kids! Several of us went into the kitchen with Doris and Maria and learned how to make homemade corn tortillas!! Oh Yeah…ours were not quite as pretty as theirs…but they tasted great! After dinner with all of the Copprome angels..we climbed back into the buses and headed back to the hotel…we are tired but really lookin forward to getting alot accomplished tomorrow!! Good night for now…it feels great just being here again!
