Day 4 Honduras January 30, 2010

Day 4 Honduras January 29, 2010:  I am sitting here in my hotel room Saturday night with the 3 oldest girls from Copprome!  I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday night…We are having a slumber party…we all went to Applebee’s to eat (for the 2^nd time today!) and then came to the hotel..we are eating our dessert in bed and taking photos of each other!  They are so much fun!

Ty and I started our day today figuring out our budgets for the summer mission trips! My sweet Gaby (she will live with us and go to college when she graduates from High School over here) came to the hotel this morning to spend the day with us…Ty, Gaby and I went to eat breakfast at the hotel restaurant and in the parking lot was a bus that said Agua Viva and a bumper sticker that said Living Water …. Ty picked out the lead guy with the group…Now, remember the past few days we have been talking about how to get running water to the poorest village here, Barrio…2 tables away from us was a group which appeared to be here to do just that…so Ty went over and spoke with him…He is with an international company that goes and drills wells for communities to have running water…wow! Isn’t it just like God to put this guy in our path? So they exchanged emails and talked about how to make it work.  He will come and check it all out and prepare it…..then we bring a group down to help do the actual drilling…amazing…things are getting accomplished!!  

Then Hollie and Israel Holliday(from Brentwood, TN) came to El Progreso with their 6 kids!! (3 of their own…1 they are in the process of adopting and 2 babies who have been abandoned) We had a fantastic day taking them to Copprome and showing them around and introducing them to my 30 angels!! Hollie is still exactly the same as she was when we worked together at FRA…full of joy and giggles as she juggles 6 kids…Israel is precious too..quiet but sweet and love overflowing with the kids….It was such a sweet day loving on their kids…and just enjoying their family.  They have lived in Honduras for 3 years…another one of those “radical for God” families that are an inspiration to us all.  It is exciting for me to look forward to seeing them each time I come….We took them to lunch at Applebee’s and hung out at the mall a little bit…then we went into town and bought 100lbs of beans for the orphanage!! This is a necessary staple here! We then went to Copprome and picked up all the girls for the slumber party…I wish I had a video for all of you to see the kids and their hugs and kisses that just overflow when you walk through the gates of Copprome.  They are so full of love and joy!! Tomorrow we are grilling out and having a party for our last day…The kids are so excited to eat hamburgeses…it is always so sad for me as I enter my final 24 hours here…but I am so thankful that I have been blessed with every second I get to spend with them! When will I see them again? I am praying for April!!
