02 Aug 2013 Mission Team #4 Day 2
Everyone got a great night’s sleep last night!!! So we woke up ready to work and serve…we went to Olivos and poured concrete and laughed and worked hard!
Right after lunch we had a little girl from Olivos pass out….Ty and I looked down and her father was holding her patting her trying to get her to wake up….we quickly got water, ice, juice, gummy bears….whatever we could to try to get her blood sugar up…(Ty gave her vitamins and talked to the parents about proper nutrition last week because he felt like she had low blood sugar) She was really lifeless….and all of a sudden we looked up and there was a man with a stethoscope walking up….now…those of you who have been to Olivos know how far out of town it is….and how strange it would be to see someone walk up like this…no car….he just showed up….he listened to her heart…and helped us get her awake….he wrote down everything in Spanish that had happened and Shelton took she and her mom to the hospital…..so…..God sent an angel….
Call it what you want…but God’s hands are all over this village…..they still have so many needs…they still need better food and vitamins and all kinds of help….
But we know God is in this….guiding us…sometimes we feel helpless…but then we feel His presence cheering us on and encouraging us to continue His work…..I am overwhelmed with this day…with His presence….
This group is easy, sweet and hard working…..kindred hearts….spending a week together to help this community and the orphanage….sweet….
Melissa, Dan and Lori lead a fantastic VBS today at Olivos and Copprome Orphanage. They taught about the woman at the well. . They gave out water bottles to the kids and let them decorate them. .
Two of our team members brought lots of seed so Olivos can plant a huge garden. . Such a sweet blessing. .
We also had an amazing meeting today about adoptions. . This story just keeps getting sweeter. . Can’t wait to see what God is up to tomorrow!
