02 Aug Tears are beginning to surface. .
Today was a great day…but I’m not gonna lie…behind every event was my realization that the summer’s mission trips are almost over..I cannot look at my Copprome kids and say I will see you in uno semana anymore….I have this overwhelming dread for tomorrow night…But I cannot dwell on that…this day was great! It was a little overcast this morning and we needed that…today was the day to finalize everything…clean up our mission room from where we left our supplies for all 3 trips…give out the left over VBS stuff…and finish everything up! We also needed to purchase backpacks and school shoes for the 9 new kids….we finally finished all of that tonight…Most of you know I am really not a shopper…so buying all of the shoes almost made me crazy!! It is not like at home where you can go and buy them all at one store and pretty quickly…no, nothing here is done quickly…We had to go to 3 different stores to get sizes and everything…at the end I just wanted to be done!! haha…I am sure I did not bargain as well in the last store…but with the help of Joseline, Dena and Gaby…we got it all done!! We finished all of it except a few things left to do to the chicken house…the hens did not arrive today…imagine that…must be arriving by Honduras time..not American time…as I say to Nando everytime he and Ruben are late with the buses…which actually is several times every week…but we can’t help but love them and their sweet personalities and hard work! So tomorrow we head to Tela beach except for Ty and Jason..they are staying back to finish up the chicken house! I think the team is excited about a much needed day of rest and play…we are pretty sad that one of our team members Matt….is leaving in the morning…he has to meet his family for vacation so he had to leave us a day early…it was really getting close to sensitive when the kids from Copprome were begging him not to leave….wow…This summer has been amazing…from the planning trips in May all the way through the last trip this week..it has all been fantastic!! All three teams were different but great…we all accomplished so much and ALL of the personalities blended so well with the people at Copprome and Mt. Olivos!! I believe lots of hearts were touched this summer and when the news spreads…lots more will be touched in 2012!!
